After the Campfire at Bear Creek, Lawson came up and stated “Mr. Mac…..I know that Tristan really likes “Grandma’s Feather Bed”….but MY FAVORITE is “Jambalaya”. But, he said, “I’ve always wondered what is Jambalaya ???”
Fast Forward to the Committee Meeting…..where someone asked what will we dine upon at our Thanksgiving to Remember ?
Well, problem solved !!!
The feasting this November will feature Cajun Cuisine. So, the patrols need to coordinate as they will provide Boudin, Grits & Grillades, Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Hush Puppies.
The troop will provide bacon wrapped shrimp and salmon fillets in lemon sauce.
LET THE FEASTING BEGIN !!!
This event is for all Troop 285 supporters to celebrate our shared experiences in Scoutng. There will be a Thanksgiving feast, with catered salmon, shrimp and Cajun pot luck sides. (Cost per person $5.00)
What to expect:
This will be an 100% outdoor event. Water, tea and lemonade will be provided, so bring your favorite tumbler.
Dinner will be at approximately 3:00 pm to ensure we can hike to the overlook by 5:15 for sunset.
Sun sets at 5:41 PM *Event is aRer Daylight Savings Time this year.
What to do:
1. RSVP YES or NO with your patrol leader. Don’t forget to include all guests, Adults and Children 10 and under.

3. Sign up for your homemade side dish for the potluck will
come out soon! Look for a SignUp from Kristi Ingram for different sides to include veggies, salads, breads, and desserts. We look forward to trying your handed-down family recipes. This will go out once we have final attendance numbers.
Also! If anyone with a Louisiana background or Cajun cooking experience would like to sign up early for the following, please let us know.

4N Ranch, 4587 Bump Gate Rd, Pipe Creek TX (45 minutes from Brook Hollow HEB Parking Lot)
Directions: From 1604…
I-10 West to Hwy 46 exit in Boerne. Turn leR (South) on 46. Cross Hwy 16 (you are now on Bump Gate rd) and travel 4.5 miles on Bump Gate. Veer leR at the Y to stay on Bump Gate. 4N Ranch is on your leR aRer you cross the caile guard. Enter at the 4th gate on the leR (it will be open).
