Annual Christmas Program – Dec 2
• Patrols need to come up with a skit based on customs of a country of their choosing • Food drive for the Coker Food Pantry – each family provide several canned items

Winter Campout @ Pike Davis – Jan 25-26

• Seven troops will attend, including 285. Need to confirm TP 102 Boerne
• Need an MC for the campfire – MC will be from one of the other troops
• Since John Feist was late to the TLC, he was awarded with the responsibility to coordinate the talent/skit portion for the troop.
• Zack Aoki & Gage Lagueux will run Flag Retirement Ceremony
• Sunday worship service will be coordinated by 285. TP 111 & 112 will provide scripture readersLBJ Campout – Feb 22

  • Since Andy Hartnett was not at the TLC, he will be surprised to learn the troop volunteered him to lead the campout.

  Newberry Triathlon – March 28
  • Venue for the triathlon needs to be secured
  • David Beyer is looking into Blossom or NEISD sports facility. • Troop is looking for suggestions on other locations.

  April Service Project – April 4th
  • One day activity – possible location will be Lost Maples

  Fiesta Parade Fundraiser – April 24 & 25
  • Need to set up meeting with Fiesta Committee group
  • In addition to phone line, proposing to include website for online sales • More information to come

Seabase – June 20-27 – Roger Poupart • Still need to confirm location

Northern Tier July 9-19 – Ben Lagueux
• 8 will attend combination of scouts and parents • working on adult fitness & travel plans

Oregon High Adventure – July 5-11 – Alex Shapovalov • 2 scouts dropped out.
• Phil Canter will be assisting Alex Shapovalov
• The camp is booked.

Lost Pines Planning – Leader Needed • 5 scouts have signed up already

USS O Scuba High Ad – 2021 – Thomas Peak
• Test dive this Friday at Dive World on Thousand Oaks.

Philmont 2021- Leader Needed
• 8 boys with 7 dads have signed up
• Dr. Kevin Helmrick will have a meeting soon with those signed up • May only have room for 4 dads

• Was recognized by the TLC for his organization and sending an agenda prior to Monday meetings

• Scouts are making progress with BoR (IMPORTANT NOTE: Risa Alonso needs to be sent information when a scout passes his BoR for upload to scoutbook)

• Thanksgiving to Remember

• –  Thanked the Lagueux family for setting up; Bo Jackson for providing beads; Greg Villaret for leading Flicker ball game; Nate Barber for organizing; Paul Thomas for providing music; troop for providing turkey & sausage.
• –  Schedule included mountain biking, slingshot, flicker ball & archery, – lunch & stories from Mr. Mac then feasting – headed to overlook to view the sunset.
• –  One scout said this was the best possible way that we could have spent this Saturday.- Open Discussion
  • Dr. Taylor – Registration provided improved tracking for follow up with scouts/parent

  – A, B1&B2 are required at registration – C is required before summer activities – Need scout copies of immunization records
  – Adults only requirement is tetanus shots

  – Reiterated Troop 285 dads are required to register with the troop and have YPT & new background check authorization form, especially if going on summer campouts over 72 hrs. No exceptions!

  • IOLS training will be this weekend 22nd – 24th at McGimsey
  • Pack 285 cross-over on Feb 8th needs representatives from the troop for the cross over

  Scoutmaster Comments

• Luis Vazquez, father to troop alumni Christian Vazquez has been ill and at the Methodist hospital for the past 30 days. Please keep Luis in your thoughts and prayers.
• Videographer working on a piece including the Scout Oath and Scout Law for book will be using footage from TP 285
• Tripp Barkley Eagle Project
  – City cancelled their participation in the project
  – Needs to execute project before 12/2/2019
  – Will build 2 waterlines at the Lorence Creek Preserve. – Please assist as needed!
• Spring schedule has been published and will be sent via Scoutbook
• Cycling Merit Badge Schedule- Daniel Diaz & Andy Hartnett – need to provide the cycling schedule

• Big Bend Adventure 2020: Will hold meeting at the lodge on Sunday, Dec 1 @ 4PM – Trip is scheduled for spring break March 7-12

• Recruiting

• –  Need to go out to cub scout packs to recruit
• –  Need dads to be ambassadors at pack meeting with scouts.
• –  Need to stress den chiefs – this is an important introduction to leadership and a great recruiting tool. Stress the importance of this opportunity to scouts.• High Adventure

  – Looking for non-BSA high adventure trips.
